Pakhshan Azizi, from Mahabad, was first arrested in 2009 by Iranian security forces for participating in a Kurdish student gathering at Tehran University protesting political executions in Kurdistan. After four months, she was released on bail. She later left Iran and settled in the Kurdistan Region.

After returning to Iran, Pakhshan was re-arrested and transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran. On July 23, 2024, Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran sentenced her to death on charges of "rebellion" and membership in "anti-regime groups." Following criticism of the verdict by Pakhshan's lawyers, the case was elevated to the appeals court. However, as expected, on January 7, 2025, the sentence was upheld by Branch 39 of Iran's Supreme Court.

Sharifa Mohammadi, from Urmia, was residing in Rasht. On December 5, 2023, she was arrested on charges of propaganda against the state. Later, the Iranian Revolutionary Court issued her death sentence. Sharifa, an activist for women's rights, environmental causes, and humanitarian values, was sentenced to death by Iran's "seventh century" regime.

Wrisha Moradi, from Sanandaj, like Pakhshan Azizi, was arrested on charges of "rebellion" against Iran's clerical regime. Wrisha's crimes, as presented in court, included membership in a women's rights organization and being an environmental activist. The regime court used Wrisha's membership in women's organizations as evidence of political activity against the state, charging her with rebellion and sentencing her to death.

Whatever name the Iranian regime uses to kill these Kurdish women, the ground truth is that their crimes are being Kurdish and being women. Because the Iranian regime cannot tolerate free Kurdish women. They view Kurds as "subjects." Therefore, whenever a Kurd demands recognition of their Kurdish identity, the plague-like clerical regime immediately accuses them of separatism and imposes the death penalty.

These three Kurdish women, charged with rebellion (which the Iranian clerics equate with separatism), are now awaiting their execution day. Although all three have endured psychological torture and physical abuse, they "live freely" in prison with high spirits.

Pakhshan, Sharifa, and Wrisha are like three sisters to every patriotic Kurd, living in the hearts of all who care about occupied Kurdistan. They are three noble ladies on a sacred path, crowns of glory and dignity for Kurdish society. The nation will always be proud of them.

Hoping for their freedom and return to their families and the embrace of the great motherland.
